[ he gaze follows docybara circling around them to cue for attention. maybe he does feel something is amiss, given his more restless than usual behaviour… ]

thorns walks over to start giving docybara some pets. they need to keep him appeased to make sure he doesn't throw a tantrum. ]

[ he is so needy… the thing about children taking after their parents is something that surely cannot be true. docybara was not with them from his birth, so they attribute it to his parents who failed him. it's fine. ]

… Alright—! [ he's officially done psyching himself up. ] Let's get a move on shall we? Before the Doctor suddenly decides to change his mind.

[ and they can be off! they will have to move more slowly than usual, and thorns is still being paranoid in case the people who attacked are still trailing them... however, the chances of that being true is fairly low, since the perfect time to have attacked would have been when they were taking turns sleeping.

[ at some point during the trip, elysium comes to a stop. he doesn't just wander off, but he does tug thorns' sleeve and point to a certain direction. ]

Do you mind waiting here? I'm going to be five minutes. [ then, as if it warrants adding: ] I'll be within visual distance.

[ he thought that the lesson that they learned was that they can never ever separate!!!

[ … realises the optics of this and holds thorns' hand. ]

[ he is immediately soothed, albeit still suspicious. ]

[ elysium makes sure docybara is secured before shuffling them several metres away. docybara isn't pleased with this at first, but this is the power of chew toys… elysium leaves one for it to play around with. ]

I'm going to squat and do my thing. No looking until I tell you.

he politely looks away and watches docybara in the distance. ]

elysium works in relative silence… until he doesn't! he looks over his shoulder to nudge thorns' leg. ]

[ he just automatically puts his hand in elysium's without question.
