he does not stay grumpy for long because all it takes to raise his spirits is peeking over to thorns' ring and feeling the warmth in his chest spread. should he look up more flower language to be more on point…? he thinks about it. it doesn't matter if thorns does or doesn't catch on. he just likes doing things for thorns. ]

[ are we sure it's a random guy…? either way, truly funny how they're both coping with this. maybe it's the years he'd spent alone and apart—side-questing is how they guarantee things getting in their way. ]

he could point out that depending on how bad elysium's condition gets, they might be forced to hit that roadblock at some point. but it's probably easier to live in the moment than think about something that might happen. ]

[ he could be dying next week. he'd tell thorns that life and death wouldn't be able to keep them from having their wedding and honeymoon. but it's clear thorns doesn't think the same way, so he just tucks him closer to him and kisses him on the spot. ]
