We'd need to stop by somewhere with stores potentially sooner to restock though.

It should be about a day and a half or two at most, contingent on the Doctor's amenability.

[ he gaze follows docybara circling around them to cue for attention. maybe he does feel something is amiss, given his more restless than usual behaviour… ]

It does seem like he has a lot of energy to burn…

thorns walks over to start giving docybara some pets. they need to keep him appeased to make sure he doesn't throw a tantrum. ]

It might be a good thing.

[ he is so needy… the thing about children taking after their parents is something that surely cannot be true. docybara was not with them from his birth, so they attribute it to his parents who failed him. it's fine. ]

… Alright—! [ he's officially done psyching himself up. ] Let's get a move on shall we? Before the Doctor suddenly decides to change his mind.

[ and they can be off! they will have to move more slowly than usual, and thorns is still being paranoid in case the people who attacked are still trailing them... however, the chances of that being true is fairly low, since the perfect time to have attacked would have been when they were taking turns sleeping.

but still. better safe than sorry. ]

[ at some point during the trip, elysium comes to a stop. he doesn't just wander off, but he does tug thorns' sleeve and point to a certain direction. ]

Do you mind waiting here? I'm going to be five minutes. [ then, as if it warrants adding: ] I'll be within visual distance.

[oversea]

[ he thought that the lesson that they learned was that they can never ever separate!!!

his response is stilted. ]

[ … realises the optics of this and holds thorns' hand. ]

You can come along if you promise to look the other way.

[oversea]

[ he is immediately soothed, albeit still suspicious. ]

Let's go.

[transmit]

[ elysium makes sure docybara is secured before shuffling them several metres away. docybara isn't pleased with this at first, but this is the power of chew toys… elysium leaves one for it to play around with. ]

I'm going to squat and do my thing. No looking until I tell you.

[ this is where they are in life......


he politely looks away and watches docybara in the distance. ]

[ they might as well be handcuffed to each other.

elysium works in relative silence… until he doesn't! he looks over his shoulder to nudge thorns' leg. ]

Gimme your hand.

[ holds his out. ]

[ he just automatically puts his hand in elysium's without question.

he is still watching docybara... ]

[ he will feel something being slipped onto his ring finger.

it's a flower ring…

[ the wait for thorns to say something is excruciating. ]

[ he frets then gets back up on his feet, holding thorns' hand in both of his, fingers gently brushing against the flower. ]

Until the day I get you one for real, I'll keep making them for you.

[ things are going to be harder for them going forward. this is why, more than ever, they need to support each other. ]

[ oh, how can anyone has been as lucky as he is? every day he doubts that it's possible to love this man more, and every day he is proven wrong.

he leans forward to kiss him, soft and sweet. ]

[ heheh. he kisses thorns back. times like this, it's so easy to pretend their problems are far away. good. ]

I know you know how to preserve plants for your purposes, but have you ever pressed a flower?

[ he is thinking of reasons to do this for logical purposes before landing on it being sentimental. ]

I bought an empty scrapbook while you weren't looking. Let's add them in along with all the pictures we end up taking.

[ because they were attacked and wounded. ]

[ thorns and his first wedding ring! he tugs him close and pulls the camera out of his bag. ]

[ thorns' smiles are the cutest in the world. he makes sure it and the ring are front and centre in the picture.

sorry docybara, there is a precarious balance that needs to be maintained in this scrapbook. for every ten of thorns there may be a docybara. he doesn't make the rules. ]
