when she does look around, medb will see that they're on a roof of what looks like it could be an apartment complex. there's a table, which is where he's seated. around them is just the landscape of a city-- shinjuku, to be precise. ]

[ Shinjuku isn't anywhere she will recognize immediately, but she takes in the cityscape for all of five seconds before she takes a seat at the table, if there's a second chair. ]

Well, I guess you wouldn't have texted me, if you weren't. Did you miss me?

[ She's being shameless, but she's not expecting any kind of genuine answer. ]

[ there is a second chair, luckily.

he has his laptop in front of him, but it's been half closed and turned away from him, so he just sets his elbow on the table so that he can rest his chin against his hand. ]

It's not like I would message you if I wasn't thinking of you.

[ still a vague answer, but still. ]

[ Yeah, it really is lucky. She would have found a seat, one way or another.

Medb's smile is sweet. That's answer enough for her. ]

Yeah, you were ready to push me away even before we left the base. I wouldn't have come, if I didn't miss you.

[ She's never been much for vagueness. ]

I wasn't planning on contacting anyone, to be honest.

[ he pauses, like he's thinking about it. ]

[ She leans forward a little, propping both her elbows on the table and cradling her chin in her hands, almost playful. ]

It's easy to want to see me, but how do you want me to interpret that?

[ Her ego is as terrible as ever. ]

[ there's a pause, and he'll close his computer more fully. ]

Have you been to Shinjuku? It's in Tokyo.

Nope. At least not this kind of Shinjuku.

[ She slides out of her chair and stands up. ]

It's actually a really good time to get a tour of the place.

[ his gaze shifts towards the cityscape. ]

I just fixed an annoying problem, so it'll be less annoying to walk around.

[ She tilts her head. ]

Your wish, or your terrorists?

The terrorists. It was pretty fun wiping them out.

[ even if it was a little strange, considering he was so very close to becoming one of them. ]

After being on the base for so long, it's great to be back in a situation where you have the upper hand.

[ She laughs. It's horrible how much she likes seeing him be terrible. She doesn't know he was going to join the terrorists he just wiped out, but if she did, she'd find it funny. ]

Satisfying, right? To get your footing back and crush people with it.

[ She makes a gesture, a well, come on then kind of motion. ]

Take me around your newly bug-free city.

[ he will pick up his computer and walk to the door that'll lead them to the stairway. down a few flights! he'll have to pop into one of the doors though to drop off the laptop.

medb can go inside too, if she wants. she'll just see an office-- there's a couch, a few bookcases, a computer. he sets his laptop next to the computer. ]

This is where Mineo and I worked together.

[ She follows him. Into the room he drops the laptop in, too. She likes him enough to care and be curious. ]

A little lowkey for taking down terrorists.

[ Not that she has much of a frame of reference. ]

We had to pretend to be a normal detective agency.

[ ... ]

Granted, it didn't actually fool anyone, but we had to put up some kind of front.

[ Medb's morals are kind of nonexistent, and the law doesn't apply to her, so she shrugs. ]

Well, if you won in the end, how much it actually fooled anyone doesn't matter as much.

Not really. They couldn't have done it without us, anyway.

[ (takeru voice) the police is fucking useless but luckily i'm not ]

But let's go, before anyone walks in.

[ She says that, but she leaves the office without dragging her feet.

It really isn't often that she gets to walk through a city normally, much less a modern one. ]

That's definitely too much of a hassle. And if Mineo shows up, he'll want to come with us.

[ that's the biggest hassle of them all.

but they can go down the rest of the stairs until they're outside properly. there's a few people walking around, but they're not in a super busy part of the city. ]

I'm worth it, and it's been long enough that Mineo could be scared of me again.

[ As if absence makes the heart learn fear again.

They are out in the ~~wild~~ city, and Medb is in her cute new outfit that looks normal enough that she doesn't stand out. Not that her usual outfit would stand out much in Shinjuku, but her new dress is cute!! And I'll make her wear it whenever I can!!

Anyway, she takes in this part of the city with bright eyes. She prefers greenness in the outdoors, but she would also thrive in a big city. ]

Although I thought you didn't mind the hassle that Mineo is.

Just because I may get along with him now doesn't make him less annoying.

[ you can want to kiss someone a lot but still think they're fuckin stupid!!! it's tragic

but they will start heading in the direction that is at least better for tourists-- more shops, instead of housing. as they walk, they can see more people around. ]

[ She hums, amused. How is it to be that attracted to someone you think is that stupid, Takeru? She can't relate.

Medb, for the most part, ignores most of the new people they see. They will walk out of the way for her because she won't evade any of them.

takeru does not notice because he is, unfortunately, also rude and is not the type to move first. this is a horrible combo. ]

[ Medb is someone who will validate his horrible parts (as long as he isn't being horrible to her). They are both so small but have such opposite energy, so everyone is going to move out of their way.

She laughs. If she didn't think Mineo is used to what an asshole Takeru is, it'd be funnier. ]

And what about me? Do we only get along, too?
