[ she immediately turn into the very first gift shop that she sees, which happens fairly quickly because disney is goddamn filled with them. after making sure that they're actually following behind her, she heads to the collection of hats and mickey ears. ]

These! Mickey Mouse is pretty iconic, so it's kind of necessary for you guys to get some.

[Sandalphon knows better than to stay behind and lose the only people he recognizes. While Ion is curious, he stares at the collection with a furrowed brow. What is this? No comment.]

... he is a character in children's tales, correct? [ like. katz? the three kowz? ]

This entire park was build on Mickey's shoulders.

[ she points at a small herd of children nearby, all trying on ears. ]

You could probably go to any part of the world and they'd recognize him.

[None of this is necessary. Also, he is not a child, so he won't be going anywhere near those, thank you. He looks at a picture of Mickey along the walls.

No matter which way one looks at it, that mascot is just an overgrown mouse with strangely human characteristics.]

[ he sort of gets it. he also sort of doesn't. he's eyeing a pair of ears with a mildly confused expression. is this just a weird earth cultural thing. do they just really like mice.

maybe they're revered like cheagles? ]

[ honestly, this is just depressing.

she plucks three sets of the ears off a stand before pointing around at the building. ]

You can look around to see if anything catches your fancy? I'm paying for everything, obviously, so.

[A door that'll take him back to the Sky Realm would be nice. At the very least, Sandalphon looks around the store from where he stands, though he makes no move of exploring every aisle it has to offer. Firstly, he's not interested in souvenirs; secondly, he's not interested in spending Stephanie's money.]

[ Ion, from where he's starting to meander around between the accessories and themed scarves in vague intrigue, pipes up: ] Oh, I do have money. I don't really know how much would be appropriate quite yet, but it seems rude to make you pay for everything...

[ Is $35 for a Jack Skellington scarf a lot or not please help. Some of the pendants and necklaces are also surprisingly tasteful, though of course this being Disney World the prices for those range from like, twenty bucks into the triple digits. Is he even carrying around an appropriate amount of money. (Read: will he get mugged if he shows it off too openly.)

Also, he might be looking back and forth between Sandy('s head) and the tiaras with a vaguely amused look. Please stop him. He's still new to this whole shopping thing. ]

[ stephanie would never stop him unless he tries to reach for something that is too much $$$$, in which case she will dive across the aisles while shrieking about how he shouldn't mimic fitzgerald's lifestyle. ]

I'm sure there's probably coffee somewhere for you. I can buy you that.

[ is.... coffee an acceptable souvenir. it is now. ]

[Fitzgerald is a man who's trying his best. Don't judge.

(If someone tries to mug Ion, Sandalphon will stab them.) Why does he keep looking at him? Before Sandalphon can say anything, Stephanie pins him with an irresistible temptation that visibly gives him pause.]

(That's probably a reason Steph should stop Ion from flaunting anything too much accidentally.) Anyway, Ion shrugs a bit at the lack of response and figures he might as well take her up on her offer. He grabs one of the less showy scarves, pauses briefly before skipping over a wishing lamp wallet with a flat expression because he can probably guess where that came from, and picks up a few of the probably less obviously symbolic pendants while he's at it.

The total comes out to be, hm, well. In the $100s, but it's on the relatively lower end of the $100s at least? Overpriced souvenirs, you know how it goes.

Should he go up to the counter himself or go with Steph. ]

steph is actually immediately moving towards ion as soon as it looks like he's done with his shopping. she knows he's been around fitz, but she also doesn't know how often ion actually does his own shopping by himself. ]

[ that's in response to sandalphon, obviously. they're friends, goddammit. ]

Because he's stuck with this pack, Sandalphon follows Stephanie. The last thing he needs is getting lost in the enormous gift shop.

[ the answer is never. ion has never gone shopping a day in his life prior to post-grimm. lower ranking clergy handled the day to day matters for the order, meanwhile all ion did was official country business.

that is to say, he has a very academic idea of what shopping entails but uh. pretend you're showing a sheltered rich kid around, steph.

the cashier's actually complimenting him on his dye-job, to which he's politely but probably confusedly offering a thank you to... please just let him shove bills over and pay. ]

[ wow that's. that's a lot of money. like, it's not that bad when you consider souvenir pricing, but this is literally their very first stop. ]

Goddammit Fitzgerald...

[ it's muttered, but they can both probably hear it. steph did not mean to say that out loud but who let the sheltered pope child run around with the 1%. ]

[Why—is that a lot of money? Rupies and dollars are different. Sandalphon can't tell, so he turns to Stephanie.]

Aren't you getting anything?

[Else? His eyes flicker to the three sets of ears in her hands. Ugh. Just get two. Don't waste money on him.]

[ his head does tilt back at the mutter. ]

I'm sorry, is that too much?

I'm afraid I haven't quite familiarized myself with the currency conversion yet...

[ yes, that's definitely all it is. ]

I do have enough to cover it all, I think, but should I put some of these back?

Maybe... some of it... you know, just in case we see something you really like later.

[ she waves the mickey ears at sandy. ]

[Great. He's not wearing it. All the ears get is a glower before he turns back to the counter, where all of Ion's purchases sit. He didn't think Ion was the type to grab so much.

Isn't Fitzgerald absurdly wealthy? If Ion's getting money from him, then this is surely nothing. But what does Sandalphon know? He'll let Stephanie handle this.]
