he sniffles, but complies anyway. instead of handing anything over to thorns, he clutches the boxes to his chest. it's a lot of boxes—enough to block his view entirely, and while it's not ideal, he will just perish and rise again when he must. ]

[ they will be moving much more slowly than they are used to, but that would have been the case even if elysium walked. they have absolutely no one to blame but themselves for this. ]

I just thought about how it's been a while since we've gone anywhere together leisurely. [ not since they've started going on the run. ] I haven't been able to pick you any new flowers recently, either.

[ he closes his eyes, leaning his head against the stack of boxes next to him. despite how much sleep they'd gotten the other night comparatively, he's still tired. concerning. ]

[ although he does get what elysium means. they were at the other village for a while, a while they weren't at the more recent one for as long, it was still back to back of being settled down in one place.

he finally manages to move a box just enough he can catch a glimpse of his husband. ]

the box wobbles, but elysium catches it just in time, shifting the stack so it probably won't topple. he's still half-hidden behind it, but it's better than nothing, tilting his head and offering a small wave back before his hands are back to the boxes settled atop his lap. ]

admittedly thorns also did not sleep in the most comfortable position, but he feels like he cannot really complain about it in front of elysium after all of that. ]
