[That actually doesn't surprise her? She can't say that Owner seems a particularly driven sort, and with their nebulous power status she wonders if there would be anything they wanted they couldn't get themselves.]
I'm in the same boat, actually? I suppose I'm saving it for a rainy day.
[Tea gotten, she assumes a seat at a nearby table. Perhaps the very one they played party games at that fateful curfew.]
I'm sorry to hear about your Inn, though. I hope you aren't too bored with it closed up.
[ owner will get their simple tea before following after rosie, settling down. very funny how things still seem so much the same... the passage of time is wild. ]
Oh, I find things to do. Errands that need to be tended to and all that.
[ loose ends to clear. ]
It's all mostly boring though, I have not had much excitement since leaving here! I am not sure if the same can be said for you...?
[She pulls a less-than-princessy expression, mouth widening to a flat line and brows furrowing.]
Well, frankly, I have no idea how to explain it without sounding insane. At least not without talking your ear off. [She stares into the middle distance, puzzling it out.] I suppose first of all, we had a True Book. It was given to my friend Timothy Goose, by an evil goose...that he made a wish to. Um.
[Perhaps these are not necessary details.]
Anyway, a True Book is a sort of magical artifact, from a world between worlds, where every version of every story is kept. And usually, they'd already have everything written within them. Once Upon a Time right up to Happily Ever After, and the like.
anyway, this does sound insane, but owner is from somewhere insane, so it's all taken... rather well? obviously, they tilt their head at some parts, but overall it is taken a lot better than you would think. ]
Yes, but there were a few catches. It didn't like everything you put in it, at least not with regular ink.
[Is this wise to explain the mechanics of her world's potential undoing to a demonic cryptid from another dimension?
..............we'll worry about this later.]
There was a sort of enchanted ink in that place between? Like a conduit to the "gods", I guess. That one, we could rewrite our whole story with. So we did.
[She splays her hands out, jazzy style.]
Tada! No more briars, no curse, no True Love nonsense. I'm just a regular princess now, doing as I please.
[A vastly abbreviated version of the tale but it should do the trick.]
I see! Wow, you have been quite busy since the ship, then. It's very impressive.
[ this is so deeply fascinating... enchanted ink. also seems extremely dangerous if something like that ever went into the wrong hands, but rosamund's gang is probably on top of that? ]

[ the good thing about the wish not having an expiration date is that you can sit on it. ]
I temporarily closed my inn. It's in need of some renovations!
[ can't have guests over when you need to do some thorough cleaning. ]

[ GIRL YOUR BRIARS ]

[She gestures to her face and neck, both suspiciously clear of scars and thorns.]
I got to start my story over. Luckily, my memories of this place stayed with me.

[ this is... intriguing.
owner did not get to ask more about how this work, considering their relationship was so... you know... ]

Except his was completely blank.

So... like a blank slate? Could he write in it?

Does your friend still have that book?
