He can feel the disappointed judgement of all the Ourans he had spent so long around. Normal, human. Regulated by the society he belonged to once. It was a struggle to fit in.
He glances down at his clawed, monstrous hands. It's been almost eighty years, but he still remembers when he had resigned himself, at first, to this place with Ryo. And here they are! And nothing has changed.
It didn't work--before--trying to win over Ryo with love because Ryo's love isn't the same kind. He isn't sure if he can love Ryo into complacency even now. Humans can't fathom the unyielding steel of biblical love. Watching and listening for loyalty and giving mercy only then. But still bestowing that love to anyone no matter what kind of person they are.
And does he want to do that? Soften Ryo? Isn't the terrible inhumanity of Ryo what makes them Ryo?
When he finally faces Ryo again, his hands curl into fists. The energy around him crackles, rising, eager and hungry. But there are two streams spilling over his cheeks, his neck, from his eyes.]
